Sitting Up...Maybe

Emerson practiced sitting up today (we also tried the bumbo seat, but she didn't like that at all!). She never quite got the hang of it...

Sunday Afternoon

After the drive back home on Sunday, we worked on putting up our Christmas tree. Marshall sat in the laundry basket and read books while Emerson took in all the action from the comfort of her boppy.

Thanksgiving Pt 2

Today we had our second Thanksgiving at my Grandad's house. Marshall and Justin decided they couldn't wait for lunch, so they started eating out of the macaroni & cheese bowl (with help from Marshall's Granddad and Justin's Grandma)!

Thanksgiving Day

Before everyone arrived on Thursday, Marshall was watching videos on my phone. I came out of the kitchen to check on him and found him like this...
 

Emerson did really well with all the people and noise. She only cried a few times! She loved visiting with Great-Granny!
 
 

Thanksgiving Eve

On Wednesday, we ventured out for our first long car ride as a family of four. We managed to make it to Grams and Granddad's house in one piece. Emerson tried out the bouncy seat that Marshall loved so much when he was a baby, and Marshall worked a few puzzles.
 
 
 
 

Random

Just a few random pictures since I haven't posted anything in a few days.

Marshall thought he could escape me by looking around the camera (from Saturday)!
 

This morning, Emerson didn't want to stay asleep in her crib, so we tried the bouncy seat. A combination of the vibrating seat, her doll, and the *nsync Christmas CD kept her asleep while I washed dishes. Yay! It will never work again. :) And, yes, the lighting is off, but I can't figure out what setting to use on the camera when it's dark since the flash is what makes it look like this. I should probably read the book, but who has time for that?!
 

M & Em Picture=FAIL

I tried to get a picture of Marshall and Emerson, but that didn't work out. Emerson started falling over and as soon as she touched Marshall, he jumped to the other side of the couch! Poor Emerson just fell on over while Marshall looked at her like she had the plague. Marshall wouldn't actually look at me for the picture, but at least he sat still.
 

"Mommy, I hate tummy time!"
 

"Well, maybe it's not so bad!"
 

Happy baby! Emerson loves the playmat! She stretches her neck so she can see the butterflies and giraffe behind her then she just stares out the window and kicks.

We ventured out into the rain today to meet Daddy for lunch. Emerson wore her adorable little pink hat with the bow for the first time. We may have to keep it on her next time because two different people asked if Emerson was a boy at lunch...even with the pink flowers on her shirt! She needs more hair, I guess!
 

Happy Monday! Emerson is 5 weeks old (as of yesterday). She is starting to smile (they're few and far between, but oh so cute).
