My favorite Smithsonian museum (The Museum of American History) was closed for renovations, but a small sample was on display at the Air and Space Museum.

This is inside Sen. Mitch McConnell's office at the Capitol. Since he's Senate Minority Leader he gets a nice office at the Capitol and at the Russell Sentate Building. We saw both. :)

Pictures from the rotunda...
The ceiling is around 200 feet tall! The pictures on the ceiling represent the 13 colonies and victory. The pictures in frames are sectioned into 2 eras: Founding the Land and Founding the Government. The last picture shows a chronological history of the land beginning with Columbus and ending with the Wright Brothers at Kitty Hawk.

This was Monday morning at the Capitol building. In the Rotunda there are statues of famous people from various states. This statue of Henry Clay is never rotated out as other statues are.

Us...outside the Parthenon.  

This is the statue of Athena inside the Parthenon. Around the edge of this room there were replicas of other statues found in the original Parthenon. The signs said the "real" ones were in the British Museum. Matt and I saw them on our honeymoon! :)

Here we are in the Opryland Hotel. We had just bought our tickets for the bowl game...Matt was way excited! He made me laugh before taking the picture, so my eyes are all squinty!
