Cereal

We tried rice cereal for the first time with Emerson tonight. She actually ate it pretty well, so I guess we'll start doing that every night now. While Emerson ate rice cereal, Marshall ate Life cereal...and later, he finished off her rice cereal! He seriously ate it like he was starving!

4 month check-up

I took Emerson to her 4 month check-up this morning. She gained almost a whole pound from when Matt took her to the doctor last week!
STATS:
15 pounds 8.5 ounces
25 1/4 inches
She weighs less than Marshall did at this point, but is a wee bit longer. And get this...her head circumference is actually below 50% for her age. We have a kid with a small head! Although, I never would have guessed that since it's usually a struggle to get shirts over her head!

Marshall wanted to hold Emerson on Friday evening. He refused to smile, but he did let her sit with him for a few minutes. After Marshall tired of her, Granddad took over!

Grams and Granddad to the rescue! Matt and I needed to work on Friday, so my parents came up on Thursday night to watch the kiddos. Granddad and Marshall put the workbench together while Emerson played in the jumperoo.

Friends

We went to Louisville on Saturday night to have dinner with my college friends and their families. I took the camera, but never pulled it out of the diaper bag. Thankfully, Karen took a few pictures and sent them to me today. This picture of Marshall was great! He was so thrilled to be playing with Cooper and Andrew.

Danita left before we remembered to try and take a group picture...sorry Danita!

"I eat cake, mama!"

This morning I was mixing a cake batter for a dessert we're taking to Louisville this evening. Marshall wanted to eat it the minute we told him what I was making. Since the batter is egg free, we let him lick the beaters. He was in heaven!!

Later, Emerson jumped in the jumperoo. She's really good at making it move and sway so the music keeps going.




I heard the music stop, so I looked up and found her like this...

The boots have arrived!

The hand-knitted boots I bought for Emerson from etsy arrived yesterday. They are just so adorable. Even though it's not very practical, she wore the gray ones to daycare this morning. I plan on her wearing the red ones Saturday evening when we have dinner with my college friends and their families. Without further ado...the boots...



Marshall is not happy if I'm taking pictures of Emerson, so he has been at least willing to let me take his picture this week. He doesn't always smile, but this morning I got a decent smile out of him.

We're in Trouble

This was Marshall and Emerson this morning as I tried to take a picture...both watching "Timmy Time" on the Disney Channel.
