Day 1: Welcome to Boston (or in our case, Plymouth)...Our rental house was the site of the very first house built by the Pilgrims. How cool is that??

Day 1: Brewster Gardens...This was practically in our front yard. You can see our house in the background of picture 2.

Day 1: Mayflower II...We also walked by the Mayflower II on the first afternoon. We toured the ship on Day 3. It's amazing that 102 people plus crew members sailed 66 days on that ship!

Day 1: Plymouth...We visited the place where Plymouth Rock is on display right around the corner from our house!

Day 2: The Freedom Trail...One of the first stops was Granary Burying Ground. Below are pictures from the grave sites of Samuel Adams and Paul Revere.

Day 2: The Freedom Trail...The stops in the middle are a little fuzzy in my mind, but we toured the Old South Meeting House (Pictures 1 & 2, Boston Tea Party) and the Old State House (picture 3, Boston Massacre). Both contained a lot of interesting artifacts and tons of information! What I learned while earning that minor in history is obviously long gone (even when most of those classes were American History related)! Karen, don't be ashamed of me! :)

Day 2: The Freedom Trail...This was a statue of Paul Revere in front of Old North Church. This was our last stop before booking it in the rain to a subway station.

Day 2: Museum of Science...We decided to spend a few hours in the museum when the rain just wouldn't let up. We were drenched and tired! We played with the interactive exhibits and watched a 3D movie about the sun. Dad was intrigued with the giant grasshopper!

Day 3: Lexington and Concord...This is the Minute Man statue in the center of Lexington. Matt, Allen, and I toured Buckman's Tavern which is where the minute men gathered before fighting the British.

Day 3: Lexington and Concord...Allen, Matt and I walked to the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord. Below are pictures from the grave sites of Louisa Mae Alcott and Ralph Waldo Emerson in a section of the cemetery called "Author's Ridge."

Day 4: 6:30 am...leaving our super fun house in Plymouth to head back home. We had a wonderful time, but we were all ready to be back in our own beds!

Formal Living Room: AFTER
We still need to purchase end tables and maybe a coffee table. We'll also stain the china cabinet (it only has primer right now) to match the tables we buy.
